A mannequin, Esine Bankhead, who at present is a “dancing partner at Bunny’s Church, Brighton, and who has been the winner of 13 local beauty competitions, is applying to the High Court for an order for the return of letters written to her by a duke who fell in love with her portrait, which was frequently published in “slimming advertisements The letters, headed with the duke s coronet, sought a meeting with the girl. She, suspecting a hoax, Wrote to the duke, and received in reply, what is described as “a wonderful letter. The correspondence is at present in the possession, of Miss Bankhead s solicii tors, from whom she seeks its return to herself.
