When Flight-Lieutenant Mclntyre presented the prizes at Ayr Academy the other day he pleased everyone by telling how he had discovered a lake in the Mount Everest region, and had asked that it might be called Loch Everest. Authority said yes. Now there will always be a touch of Scotland in that far-away place. It is believed that Loen Everest is the only loch outside Scotland. No one will be able to read it on the maps of to-morrow without thinking that “some Scotsman had a hand in that!”
