PIGEON RACING

EGMONT HOMING CLUB. The Egmont Homing Club (New Plymouth) decided two races this week. The first was an interval race from Pa merston North, a distance of 125 miles, each member sending one bird with a 20-minute interval between the l lbe J?“ tion of each. The winner, owned by Mr. B. Sole, put up a very good performance. Results were: B. Sole 4h 58m, 1; • Fraser, 5h 24m Bs, 2; J. James, 5h 25m 235, 3. The other event was a team race from Palmerston. The conditions were that each member was to nominate three birds and insert three race rings in the clock before the timing commenced. The birds were liberated by the stationmaster at 10.30 a.m. Mr. A. Rowes team was the only one to home on the day of llbe tion, being clocked in at 5.45 P-m., a good performance in view of the bad weather. The time was 7h 15m.
