MOTOR UNION CO-OPERATION

SOUTH SUGGESTS GREATER UNITY. ‘AUCKLAND MOVE NOT DOMESTIC.’ By. Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night The action of the Auckland Automobile Association was discussed in committee at the annual meeting of the South Island Motor Union. At the conclusion it was reported that the following motion was carried: “This union is of opinion, in view of the close cooperation between the North Island Motor Union and the South Island Motor Union, that any alteration of the constitution or functions of the North Island union or any of the clubs affiliated to it will vitally affect the welfare and interests of the South Island union and its affiliated clubs and is therefore not a purely domestic matter of the North Island union. “This meeting resolves to ask the North Island union to nominate a special committee to act with a committee from the South Island union to discuss (a) the formation of a properly constituted association to deal with all motoring matters of national importance, (b) the advisability of either setting up one minor association in each island or establishing a closer union of the various clubs in each island, and (c) the whole position in regard to the government of motoring in New Zealand.”
