FAREWELL SOCIAL HELD. A farewell social was tendered Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Wright in the Methodist hall on Tuesday evening prior to their departure for New Plymouth. The attc..dance was too great for he hall and the overflow had to be accommodated in the church. On behalf of the congregation the Rev. H. V. Utting presented Mr. Wright with a wallet of* notes. Speakers who expressed regret at the dep..rturc of Mr. and Mrs. Wright and family were Mr. Utting, Mrs. Mackinder, Mrs. F. Longbottom and Mr. R. Young, representing different departments of the church, and flie Rev. R. S. Keenan, Presbyterian minister.
Supper was served by the ladies of the church. Those contributing to the programme were Mrs. Mackinder, Mrs. Coutts, Mrs. McKeen, Miss Leech and Mr. W. J. Smith.
