.PROTECTION OF MOTORISTS.

A question of considerable importance to motorists was placed on the order paper in the House of Representatives yesterday by Mr. J. Linklatei" (Co., Manawatu). Mr. Linklater is to ask the Minister of Justice whether in view of the increase throughout New Zealand in the theft of motor-cars, and the fact that scores of cars have been burned or badly damaged by motor thieves and the fear that, no motor vehicle is safe in the streets of any city or town of New Zealand, he will have the property of motorists properly protected by drastically increasing the punishment prescribed for the offence. •
