FINE WEATHER EXPECTED

COLD NIGHT TEMPERATURES.

Bv Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night.

The weather will be fair to fine generally but a few passing showers are probable at first on the coast north of Castlepoint. Cold night temperatures may be expected, with some severe frosts in the South Island. Several days’ fine weather may be expected in most districts.

An intense anti-cyclone extends from eastern Australia across the Tasman Sea and New Zealand, but the pressure is relatively low in the far north. Southerly winds are probable, still strong in exposed positions in the North Island but decreasing and otherwise light to moderate, becoming variable in the South Island. Seas will be rough but moderating north of Farewell Spit and Castlepoint and elsewhere smooth to moderate.
