handicap matches results. Good progress has been made with the Cape Egmont Goli Club’s handicap matches, the final stages having been reached in both the ladies’ and the men’s competitions. Some very close and interesting games have resulted and the competition, the first the club has held, has been very successful. Following are the results: — Men’s Handicap. First round: K. Tompkins (8) defeated A. Smith (28), 7 and 5; R. B. Fleming (10) defeated E. King (14), 7 and 5; G. Pukehika (18) defeated W. Bennett by default; A. Thorn- (4) defeated E. Whittle (28), 8 and 6; J. Priest (24) defeated E. H. Gray (26) by default; T. Brophy (14) defeated R. B. Taylor by default; byes, J. Harte (18), A. -mots (16). • Second round: K. Tompkins lost to R. B. Fleming, 1 up at the 20th; G. Pukehika defeated A. Thome, 1 up; T. Brophy defeated J. Priest; A. Roots defeated J. Harte, 3 and 2. Semi-final: G. Pukehika defeated R. B. Fleming by default; A.
