WAITARA GOLF FINAL

W. H. FULLER THE CHAMPION.

SOME SURPRISE RESULTS.

The final and semi-finals of the Waitara Golf Club’s championship were played during the week-end. The results were in some cases rather surprising. In the semi-finals W. H. Fuller beat W. B. Glasgow and E. A. George defeated A. G. Wills. Fuller was at the top .of his form, and reeling off the 18 holes in 72 he proved too solid for Glasgow. Wills had played such consistent golf that he was expected to account for George, but the unexpected happened and George never appeared to be in danger of defeat.

Over the 36-hole final Fuller had to fight hard in the morning and was one down at the 11th, but he then settled down to his game. He was 2up at lunch and went on to win by 7 up and 6 to play.
