COMING OF AGE PARTY
EVENING AT NEW PLYMOUTH. A dance was held at the Citizens’ Band room New Plymouth, on Tuesday, when Mr. and Mrs. J. O’Brien, Devon Street, entertained to celebrate The coming of age of their twin sons, Jack and Claude. The hall was decorated with streamers of black and gold and Mrs. O’Brien received her guests wearing a frock of Aii Force • blue georgette and lace with coatee to match. Miss Valda O’Brien, who assisted her mother, wore a primrose net frock over satin, finished with a broad sash of lime water-waved ribbon. During the evening competitions caused much amusement. The supper tables were decorated very daintily with large bowls of spring flowers and during supper a two-tier birthday cake decorated with silver horse shoes and surmounted by 21 candles on each tier was cut and the toast to the young people drunk by all present. Mr. O’Brien presented each son with a golden key which the assembled guests afterwards autographed. Dancing was held to music supplied by Martin’s orchestra.
