Nearly 2000 men are at work in the village "of Corby, Northants (England), constructing a £3,500.000 steelworks which when completed, will place Corby among the greatest producers of steel in the woi’ld. Everywhere there is bustle. Great coke-ovens are being constructed by a Manchester firm, and a coal-wash-ing apparatus has been erected. The works lie in the heart of 26.000 acres of iron-ore deposits, which are estimated to yield 500,000.000 tons. So many workmen are now in Corby that lodgings cannot be had, and scores of the men are being housed on the job. Already plans have been passed by the local authorities for the erection of 500 new houses in the village. In Hull, Britain's largest fishing port, between 50,000 and 60.000 persons depend upon fishing for their livelihood,
