It is only 32 inches in height. It can be comfortably carried about by a man. Brumbies have been bred from pit ponies, which were allowed to roam the bush in Wolgan Valley when Lie oil shale works were closed at the end o. 1922 Those captured were difficult to yard, and gave much trouble when driven to Wallerawang, from wnere they were trucked to Orange. The small pony was yarded in a small pigstye, and Mr. George Shepheard, of Lithgow., purchased it. It is a chestnut filly with silver man and tail. It is a favourite with the children, and often enters the kitchen of Mr. Shepheard’s home, seeking food*
