SKI-ERS AT RUAPEHU

MOUNTAIN CLUB SUCCESSES. EXCELLENT WINTER HOLIDAY. Members of the Stratford Mountain Club who returned from the Ruapehu Ski Club's annual sports at Chateau Tongariro held over the past fortnight gave a glowing account of the success pf the gathering. Egmont club members were present, and Stratford was proportionately the most successful of the clubs represented. Messrs. Brian McMillan and J. Carryer were unable to get to the Chateau until last Friday, and missed the men’s downhill and slalom, races. They participated in the open ski jump, however, in which Mr. McMillan was first and Mr. Carryer was third, Mr. Brian Murphy, the eventual winner of the club championship, being second. There were about 300 visitors to the Chateau, and even after the club visitors had left the house was well filled. Messrs.
