THE CHRISTIAN HOME
DANGER OF INDIFFERENCE. I SYDNEY BISHOP'S OPINIONS. | The Anglican Bishop Administrator of Sydney, Dr. Kirkby, speaking at the :49th annual meeting of the Church of England Homes lately, said that the Christian • home, one ofthe greatest institutions, was in real danger, not only from Communistic doctrines and teachings, bvit from people who called them- ! selves Christians. These people had no
time for Communism, yet. in a real | way, they were doing the work that th"; people in Soviet Russia would like them to do. They were breaking down the principles underlying the Christian home, and were destroying home life and its influences.
“We may have the grace to criticise others, but God give us the grace to criticise ours.lves,” Bishop Kirkby added. “How far do we parents make our homes to be Christian? We should that there is rn intense religious atmosphere in our homes. I do not mean an atmosphere of piousiness and sanctimoniousness, but a spirit of wholesome recognition of the supreme power of God. Let us see that our homes do not lose that Christian atmosphere. If we re-, spond to this call we will be making a rich contribution not only to the welfare of the church, but to the healthy, wholesome and sane life of this great land of which we should all be proud.”
