Bursting the banks in many places, water from the River Jumna (United Provinces) inundated thousands of acres and swept a number of villages out of existence with heavy loss of life .and cattle. Troops have been rushed to the Agra districts. Danger as a result of the piercing of the Skyok ice dam has passed as the waters of the Indus are falling.
