RUMBERG WINS WRESTLING
PEREIRA UNABLE TO CONTINUE. NECK INJURY SUFFERED IN FALL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. Ha! Rumberg added another to his list of successes over Al Pereira at the town hall to-night when after a heavy dump Pereira had to be assisted from the ring suffering from injuries to his neck. The bout was one of the best seen at Dunedin, both men Introducing a variety of holds and moving with remarkable speed for their size. The first four rounds were very evenly contested though Pereira was doing most of the attacking. In the fifth round Pereira brought Rumberg to the mat with a back loop slam and, using a body press, forced Rumberg’s shoulders to the mat. It was early in the next round tliat Rumberg sprang in to attack and, catching Pereira off his guard, lifted him into the air and dumped him down on his neck. When the referee dragged tire two men apart after awarding a fall to Rumberg Pereira was unable to rise and he had to ba assisted to his corner. He was unable to take the ring at the gong and the bout therefore went to Rumberg, who watched with some concern as his opponent left the ring between his second and a policemarL obviously much daxed with Ips hsag bpyved..
