ROCK FALLS ON MAN
TWO HUNDRED FEET DROP. FATALITY NEAR OAMARU. By Telegraph—Press Association. Oamaru, Aug. 29. Ross Crawshaw, aged 21, son of Mr. Frank Crawshaw, a former Mayor of Oamaru, met his death in tragic circumstances yesterday. In company with Messrs. E. Swinard and L. Faid, he was engaged in shooting shags on the property of Dr. Gow, six miles beyond Tapui. Mr. Crawshaw was found dead with severe injuries to the head at the foot of a cliff 200 feet high. A ‘large boulder was alongside the body, and it had apparently been loosened by recent rains and had fallen from the top of the cliff on to the. unfortunate young man. Deceased was a prominent Oamaru swimmer.
