CYCLING AT INGLEWOOD
C. BURKE AGAIN BREAKS RECORD. D. FIELDS WINS GOOD RACE. The sixth race of the Inglewood Cycle Club’s cup series was held yesterday to Meeting of the Waters and back. A good field faced the starter. The weather was ideal for fast racing. The race was followed by many of the club’s supporters, who were rewarded with an excellent exhibition of riding by all competitors. . At the turn the riders were still in their handicap groups but the gaps had closed considerably. On the return journey the field formed three bunches, and a mile and a half from home two groups, the three limit riders working well together to maintain their lead. Oyer 50 spectators gathered to see the finish, which was fought out in two excellent sprints for D. Fields to win by half a wheel. C. Burke won the second sprint to gain fastest time and to lower his record for the race by 235. I Results are:—D. Fields (4m.) 1, L. Standing (4m.) 2, K. Kennedy (4m.) 3, C.
