FORMATION ANNOUNCED

POLITICAL FEDERATION FOUNDED.

FIVE IMPORTANT PRINCIPLES.

PROVISIONAL OFFICERS ELECTED.

A new political organisation, the New Zealand Political Federation, incorporating the All New Zealand Party, has been formed. The provisional officers of the Auckland division are: Chairman, Mr. J. B. Donald; vice- chairmen, Messrs. A. J. Stallworthy, M.P., and Mr. A. Oldham; secretary and treasurer, 'Mr., J. Caughley; committee, Messrs. D. Donaldson, W. H. Murray, H. P. Winters, J. H. Langley, J. H. Potter, E. Stallworthy, C. Hill and P. J. Farrow.' . . . The federation states it is not a party, but an organisation founded on broad principles, to which : people o!f every class can subscribe. The five essential planks are stated to be a change of Government; reduction of taxation, of wasteful expenditure, and of interference, with trade and industry; employment at adequate wages and the restoration of the/ Arbitration Court; State-con-trolled currency; and care of the young people.

LIBERAL-LABOUR FEDERATION.

TWELVE PRINCIPAL PLANKS.

The formation of a New Zealand Liberal-Labour Federation, with headquarters in Auckland, is also announced. Its objects are stated to be the securing of a progessive Government based on democratic rule to aim for: (1) Monetary reform; (2) a Progessive Land Reform Bill, to make land obtainable by the worker, with grants of low interest; (3) equal rights for women, as for men, in all State benefits; (4) six hours working day, at standard., rates of pay;. (5) the House of Representatives’■ personnel to be reduced to fifty members; and an elected Upper House of ten members; (6) free importation of all foodstuff that cannot be produced in New Zealand, other than wheat; (7) compulsory medical report on all school children, and, when needed, rest homes for them; (8) the right of blind persons to be accompanied by a friend or relation to mark their voting papers at elections if they wish; (9) education, better facilities for teachers and scholars; (10) special appeal courts/for workers; (11) ’ national unemployment and health insurance for workers; (12) tariff reform and repeal of sales tax. ,
