£5000 IN GOLF PRIZES
MELBOURNE’S CENTENARY. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 9.15 p.m. Melbourne, Aug. 17. In connection with the Victorian centenary celebrations the Victorian Golf Association hopes to be able to distribute £5OOO in prize money for an open golf championship, which is expected to attract noted professionals from overseas. The contemplated event will occur just after the Melbourne Cup race in 1934.
