BIG FEDERAL SURPLUS
TAXATION CUT PROBABLE. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney,- Aug. 16. Addressing a United Australian Party meeting, Mr. R. A. Parkhill, Federal Postmaster-General, stated that the Federal surplus was about £3,750,000, and that the amount would have been distributed if Parliament had been sitting, and the Budget delivered. When tire Budget was delivered it would be in the nature of reducing taxation to the least amount of the surplus stated.
