OFFENCES BY MOTORISTS

POLICE COURT AT INGLEWOOD. Offences by motorists resulted in a number of prosecutions in the Inglewood Police Court yesterday before Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M. Roger Marshall, who drove a motorcar with the headlights not properly adjusted, but who had them attended to when requested by the county inspector, Mr. W. Hinch, was convicted arid ordered to pay £1 2s 6d costs. For a similar offence W. Pitcher was convicted and ordered to pay £1 0s 6d costs . Leslie Francis Payne, who pleaded, guilty by letter to riding a bicycle at night without a light, was ordered to pay 10s costs. Edward John Arlow, who drove an unregistered motor-car, pleaded guilty and stated that he took steps to have the car registered by his employers, was ordered to pay 10s costs. Convictions were entered against several motorists who drove cars without proper tail-lights. No fines were inflicted but V. T. Robson, J. W. Mackin-, der and N. Edwin were ordered to pay £1 0s 6d costs each and L. Jordan £1 2s 6d costs. Alfred Miles was charged with driving a motor-truck without holding a driver’s license and with operating a heavy motor vehicle without having obtained a heavy traffic license for it. He was fined £l. with £1 0s 6d costs, on the second charge and was convicted and discharged on the first.
