y EFFORT .TO RETAIN TEACHER. The monthly meeting of the Puniho School Committee was held on Monday evening. Those present were Messrs. S. H. Cooke (chairman), E. Stanley, A. Kalin, R. Gilmer and W. Wjllan (secreThe headmaster (Mr. E. C. Coleman) reported that the roll remained at 42 with ah average attendance of. over 40. The school had recently been visited by Mr. W. Dill-Macky, agricultural instructor, who reported favourably on the work. ■ ~ The chairman reported that as a result of the committee’s protest the Education Board would endeavour not to transfer Miss Garcia. The swamp at the back of the giounds which was drained some time ago was being prepared tor planting in shrubs.
