MARRIED WOMAN’S CRIME. PROBATION FOR A YEAR. An order for the suppression of her name was made by Mr. Justice Ostler at New Plymouth yesterday when admitting a married woman to probation for a year on condition that £2 towards the costs of the prosecution was paid within a month. In the lower court she had pleaded guilty to’ making a false declaration under the Post and Telegraph Act. On her behalf Mr. A. A. Bennett pointed out that she was 33 years old. She had already been substantially punished first in facing the _ lower . court proceedings and secondly in having to appear in the . Supreme Court for sentence that day.
