CONVENTION AT BOSTON

WORK OF ROTARIANS.

LETTER EROMROTARIAN LIST. Dated Boston, June 30, the following letter from Rotarian T. C. List, New Plymouth, Rotary Governor for NewZealand, who has been attending the Rotary International convention at Boston, was read at luncheon of the New Plymouth Rotary Club. The letter was written to Mr. 11. Valder, Hamilton, ex-Governor of New Zealand Rotary, who forwarded a copy to the New Plymouth Club. ‘Ttotarian F. Milner (who accompanied Rotarian List) and I have been having a most wonderful time,” stated Rotarian List. “Last week we were at Poland .Springs, where all the governor nominees received instruction and inspiration in Rotary at the hands of the leaders. For the whole of this week we have been in session at the convention, and life has been one hectic rush. They appointed me vice-chairman of four .committees, and we have been working from 7 a.m. till midnight Unfortunately we have struck a heat wave, the like of which had not 'been experienced for the past ten years. That disability, however, has not affected the enthusiasm of the 9000 Rotarians present. “Frank -Milner met with a wonderful, reception, and his speech provoked unparalleled enthusiasm.. The immense crowd rose as one man at the conclusion of his speech and gave him an ovation that was an outstanding feature' of the convention. The New Zealand Rotarians would be as proud as I am of Frank had they been here. He put New Zealand on the . mapi properly,. Ever since we have been deluged, with applications from clubs for him to speak ■ at their luncheons.. We are now working out itineraries. “New Zealand stands exceedingly high in the hearts of the big men in Rotary, thanks to the fine lot of men who in the past have presided over its destinies, and I regard it as a special privilege to help on the good work they have done. I find the Americans extraordinarily .'generous and kind, and both Frank and I have made friendships that will,; I feel sure, endure to the end.” '
