CASES AT NEW PLYMOUTH. Arrears totalling £lB7 3s 2d up to June 7, 1933, were owing by John Clayton Rowe, who was sentenced at the New Plymouth Police Court yesterday to a month’s imprisonment for default under a maintenance order for £1 12s 8d a week made on March 5, 1930. The warrant will be suspended during the payment of 10s a week. Having found the £5. stipulated previously, Joseph Mansoor (Mr. N. Little) had the information against him withdrawn on giving an order on Dalgety and Co., Wellington (sellers of his skins) for £6 a month to be paid to the clerk of the court at Dunedin. Mr. W. F. Southam (maintenance officer), in agreeing to the arrangement said Mansoor had always kept his word, though he had been difficult to locate at times owing to his movements about the country buying skins.

On the application of Mary E. Stewart (Mr. A. G. Anderson) an order was made against John A. Stewart for separation, guardianship of children and maintenance at the rate of £2 10s a week, with £2 2s costs. MISCELLANEOUS CASES.

That he aided and abetted A. C. Kasper, licensee, in the selling of liquor in the Oakura Hotel about midnight on June 5 was a charge admitted by Lance McDonald, who was fined £2 and 10s costs and given three weeks in which to find the money. John Evans was convicted and discharged on a charge of allowing two cows to wander on the Mangorei Road on June 24. Mr. R. Day reported that since the adjournment of the case Evans had taken steps to prevent a recurrence of the trouble.
