TUNA DISTRICT NEWS

The Methodist Sunday school held its annual tea meeting recently. There was a very good attendance of children and their parents, also visitors from Wharehuia. A programme was contributed by the following: Duet, Miss S. Henderson and Mr. C. Henderson; recitations, Iris Lepper, Edna Nicol, Jean Nicol, Allan Kirkby, Brian Kirkby, Thelma Lepper and Colin Kirkby. The Sunday school children sang several hymns. The Rev. T. Skuse presented the prizes. Myrtle Harrison and Kenneth Kirkby received pocket Bibles as they have left Sunday school.

Mr. Wellington gave his report and balance-sheet for the year. Mr. Kirkby spoke on behalf of the residents in appreciation of the good work Mr. Wellington and family and Mrs. Harrison were doing in the district. Mr. Skuse thanked Mr. Wellington, Mrs. Harrison and . the residents for the pleasant, evening and the fine tea and supper they had provided.

Mr. and Mrs. Proffit are staying with their daughter, Mrs. L. Lepper, Tikorengi. Mr. F. Winmill has been staying with his sister. Mrs. A. Loveday, Pohokura. Mrs. Kayccr, Whangamomona, is the guest cf Mrs. VZ. Nicol. Mrs. Muller. Stratford, is staying with her sister. Mrs. E. G. Jones. Mrs. Kirkby senr. is staying with Mrs. T. Henderson. ,
