BRANDY FOR A BABY

DEATH FROM ASPHYXIA. Death from asphyxia, probably accidentally caused by the administration of an excessive quarttity of alcohol for such a young child, was the finding of the Sydney coroner recently when an inquiry was held into the death of an infant aged six months, who died at her parents’ house at Rozelle. The mother gave evidence that the child developed a bad cough at night. She gave the baby a teaspoon of brandy diluted with water. When she awoke in the morning the child was dead.
