MEETING AT NEW PLYMOUTH. « RESOLUTIONS OF DAIRYMEN. 1 The activities of the New Zealand Dairy Produce Control Board in the past • year were outlined to about 180 Ward 4 1 dairy factory representatives and suppliers at New Plymouth’ yesterday by 1 Mr. Dynes Fulton, acting-chairman, and < Mr. G. M. Pottinger, accountant to the board. Mr. W. C. Green, the ward’s re- 1 presentative, presided. The aadresses 1 were on the same lines as those given at Hawera and published in the News pes- 1 terday. Mr. Fulton remarked on the large at- ' tendance, and said the meeting was the 1 biggest he had had since leaving Wellington to visit all the wards. He was pleased to see such interest in the board and the industry. A resolution urging the Government to ) prohibit the export of veils for three . years was carried. Asked if the New i Zealand Rennett Company could take I the whole output of New Zealand veils for the next three years, Mr. Fulton said it could. Moreover, it could take the output probably for the next five years and pay for it at the world’s parity price. In reply to another supplier, Mr. Fulton said the board’s officers in London , had power to stop a shipment of pro- . duce faulted on the voyage from being placed on the market in competition > with other produce and so damaging New ( Zealand’s reputation. The fact of crates of produce being , damaged in loading certainly detracted from their keeping qualities, Mr. Fulton said, and the matter required investigation. The question of shipment in single

A resolution urging a more equitable system of voting for members of the board was carried by the meeting. It was considered that the tonnage basis in existence at present could oe betterthe motion of Mr. C. A. Marchant (Cardiff) it was decided to urge the .board to request the Department of Agriculture to discontinue the pubheation of dairy produce statistics month by month; also to circularise dairy companies to discontinue the publication of dairy prod Messrs* R- B. Sutton (Moa Farmers), M (Midhlrst), H. C Taylor (Neaire) H. E. Blyde (Lepperton) and r N H. Free (Mangatoki) were elected to represent the ward at the annual meeting in September. The nominations numbered 15 and the ballot was on a tonnage basis. .
