Y.W.C.A. JOY NIGHT

SUCCESSFUL SERIES CONTINUED. Another of the popular series of Joy Nights organised by the New Plymouth branch of the Y.W.C.A. was held last night in the Powderham Street Hall. There was a very large attendance. Both young and old joined heartily in community singing led by Mr. C. Blake, and that ever-enjoyable feature constituted the main portion of the programme. Songs sung by Mrs. F. C. Ferry and Mr. Blake were much appreciated. Miss F. Broad played the accompaniments throughout. Later the floor was cleared, and with Miss A. Horner at the piano, dancing was enjoyed until about 10 p.m. Mr. Foster, assisted by Mr. J. Ledgerwood, was master of ceremonies. Fifty per cent, of the proceeds will go to the Mayor’s relief fund. i.
