Leicester hi the first innings made 295 against West Indies, which in the second innings lost eight wickets tor 2 (Roach 66), after making 150 in the first innings. The match was drawn. Rain interfered with county cricket matches. Results are:— Gloucestershire beat Warwick: Warwick in the first innings made 139 (S 1 field four wickets for 22) and m the second innings 134 (Goddard seven w )c kets for 63). Gloucestershire in the first innings made 187 (Dacre 54), Hammond 55; Hollies eight wickets for 54) and in the second innings made 89 for three wickets). Gloucestershire *won by seven

wickets. Somerset v. Hampshire: Somerset m the first innings made 317 (Case 132). Hampshire lost seven wickets for 275. The match v/as drawn. Kent beat Surrey: Kent in the first

innings made 251 (Gover six wickets for 82) and in the second innings lost six wickets for 377 and declared (Ames 137, Todd 121), Surrey in the first innings made 261 (Hobbs 101, Sandham 70) and in the second 152 (Freeman five wickets for 56). Kent won by 125 runs. Yorkshire beat Middlesex: Middlesex in the first innings made 305 (Hearne 79; Verity six wickets for 103) and in the

second innings 114 (Macaulay seven wickets for 52). Yorkshire in the first innings made 307 (Sutcliffe 177; Sime five wickets for 69) and in the second innings made 53 without loss. Yorkshire won by ten wickets. Sussex beat Derbyshire: Derby in the first innings made 158 (Tate four for 29) and in the second innings 195 (James Langridge five wickets for 63). Sussex

in the first innings made 284 (H. Parks 122; Mitchell five wickets for 74) K and in the second innings lost four wickets for 72. Sussex won by six wickets. Nottinghamshire v. Northants in- the first innings made 357 (Liddell. 113). Worcester made 138 (Jupp five wickets for 51) and in the second followed on to make 166. Northamptonshire won by an innings and 53 ryns.
