WOOL IMPROVEMENT SCHEME

MEAT BOARD CONTROL URGED.

PROPOSAL FINDING FAVOUR

At a meeting of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union executive to-day it wa’ stated that the Meat Board was now sympathetic towards the proposal that it should control the scheme for the improvement of wool. It was stated that South Island sheep farmers were also favourable toward the wool improvement scheme. The opinion was expressed that the scheme would have to include both islands or there would be no scheme at all.

A committee was appointed to confe’" to-night with the wool committee and report to the Farmers’ Union conference to-morrow. v
