CORRESPONDENCE

AN UPLIFT FOR STRATFORD. (To the Editor.) Sir,—Revisiting Stratford on Saturday I found countless motor-cars ranged on every available street. This, I should think, could only be excelled by Hamilton and equalled by Napier. But I wish to point out where Stratford shines. My Car started playing up. It had been in four garages and no one could detect the fault, but in a Stratford garage it was remedied. Incidentally, while waiting I struck the best whisky in New Zealand (the seller said it was the best in the world) but I say in New Zealand. So I left Stratford satisfied that, just as we read of “Auld Ayr whom ne’er a town surpasses for honest men and bonnie lasses,” so’ Stratford stands for top grade whisky and motor mechanics, if not for its Mayoral troubles. —I am, etc., “PASSING THRO’.” Rahotu, Juty IL .
