ORGANISATION OF SEARCH

EFFICIENCY AT STRATFORD. The organisation at Stratford for th£ purpose of lending assistance in searches on Mount Egmont was tested and found efficient early last evening. From the time the chairman of the East Committee of the Egmont National Park Board (Mr. J. C. Robins) received a message that a man was believed to be lost on the mountain, scarcely an hour elapsed before a fully-equipped party was ready to set out, and complete arrangements, including radio contact, had been made to facilitate the operations. It was about 6.30 D.m. that advice of the visitor’s safety was conveyed to Mr. Robins and the search abandoned. Speaking of the occurrence, Mr. Robins expressed to a News representative his admiration of the organisation that existed in Stratford, which was deserving of the thanks of the community. .
