STOCK SALE AT FEILDING. GENERAL ADVANCE IN PRICES. At the Feildmg sale on Friday, reports Dalgety and Co., Ltd., the yarding of fat lambs was smaller than for some time and competition was not so keen, principally owing to the quality not being up to the standard. Fat ewes, however, were yarded in about the usual numbers and showed an increase of 2s. Fat wethers also showed an improvement of 2s. per head. The yarding of store sheep was also smaller than usual, but all classes were keenly competed for. Breeding ewes increased 2s. to 2s. 6d. per head. Ewe hoggets also showed an increase of Is. to 2s. There was a full yarding of fat cattle, particularly of bullocks, which ’sold freely at advanced rates. The market for store cattle was Very strong. GISBORNE VALUES FIRM. Gisborne, July 8. At the Gisborne sale, fat sheep values were maintained. Ewes, extra, Ils Id to 11s 7d; generally 9s to 10s 6d; maidens, 13s Id; wethers, 13s 3d; lambs, 10s to 11s 6d; second grade ewes, 6s 8d to 8s 6d. Store sheep: An entry of 2500 head. It was a keen sale, values again advancing.
