MOA DAIRY FACTORY.

LARGEST OUTPUT IN TARANAKI.

At a meeting of the directors of the Moa Co-operauve Dairy Company yesterday it was decided that the payment for June's butter-fat should be 9d per lb, and that a bonus amounting to between £6OOO and £7OOO should also ba paid. Un its output for the season, which amounted to over 1397 tons, the Moa dairy factory has the largest output of any co-operative dairy factory in Taranaki. Ladies’ Golf Draw.

ENJOYABLE EVENING AT TARIKI.

The third of a series of socials was held in the Methodist Church on Thursday, when an enjoyable evening was spent. Visitors from Inglewood, Norfolk Road and Waipuku were present. The Rev. J. Utting presided. Competitions and games, controlled by Mr. Utting and Misses Logan and Therkleson, were interspersed with the following items: — Sketch, “Pat and the Magistrate,” Mrs. and Miss Porter; duet, “Farewell to Summer,” Mrs. Jemison and Mr. W. Smith; song, “The Seed Song,” Sunday School girls assisted by Miss A. Therkleson and Mr. Griffiths Jones (teachers); songs, “Parted,” and “The Blind Ploughman,” Mr. W. Smith (Inglewood); recitations, “Sea Fever” and “The Proud Mother,” Miss K. Jemison; organ solo, Moderate in C (Leybach), Mr. G. Jones. The accompaniments were played by Mrs. W. Jemison and Mr. G. Jones. HUIROA NEWS ITEMS OF PERSONAL INTEREST. A euchre party and dance was held in the Huiroa schoolroom, the winners being Mrs. Fraser and Mr. V. Bevins. A consolation prize went to Mr. H. Wood. The music was supplied by Miss J. Wallace and Mr. A. Martin was master of ceremonies. Mr. Harry Bowen, Bulls, is spending holidays with friends in the district. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Stove have returned home from New Plymouth. Misses L. and J. Wickham, New Lyim, Auckland, are spending holidays with Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Wickham. Miss Olive Tecofsky, Ngaere, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Bowen. The Huiroa Crib team travelled to Douglas on Wednesday night and was victorious by eight games. Mrs. Sterling, Wellington, is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Stove. Miss B. Griffin, who has been spending holidays with Mrs. Reardon, Eltham, has returned home. Mrs. Fishwick is visiting Auckland. Mr. G. Stanford, who has been on a holiday, has returned to North Auckland. The diggers’ annual ball was held in the schoolroom on Friday, it being the fifteenth annual event. One of the biggest crowds seen in the school was present and an enjoyable evening was spent. Music was supplied by the Ambassadors’ Band, extras being played by Miss J. Wallace. Mr. H. Read was master of ceremonies. Monte Carlos were won by Miss Leydon and Mr. T. Iremonger, and Miss D. Ritchie and Mr. H. Ford. ADVERTISERS’ ANNOUNCEMENTS. Mr. P. H. Jones, late of Turnbull and Jones, advises residents of Central Taranaki in this issue that in a few days he is commencing business on his own account as a high-class tailor. He will occupy the premises opposite the County Hotel lately occupied by Mr. J. Hefferen, hairdresser. A dance and euchre evening has been arranged by Tariki footballers for July 20.

PERSONAL. Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Farrell, Hamilton, who spent the week-end with friends at Stratford, left for Wellington yesterday. The presidents of the North Taranaki and Stratford executives of the Farmers’ Union, Messrs H. E. Blyde and T. T. Murray respectively, left yesterday to attend the Farmers’ Union conference at Wellington this week.
