FAIR, COLD WEATHER
WIND SOUTH TO EAST.

The weather will be fair to fine and cold except in eastern and northern districts of the North Island, where it will be’cloudy and overcast. Rain north of Auckland and Napier will extend southwards, more especially on the east coast, with some heavy falls between Hawke’s Bay and the Bay of Plenty. A cyclone is centred north of Cape Maria van Dieman while an anti-cyclone is located east of the South Island. A slight low-pressure wave is passing in the far south. There will be south to east winds north of Westport and Kaikoura, strong to gale force in parts of the far north and north-east, with moderate but increasing variable winds elsewhere.
