DOUGLAS BEATEN AT FOOTBALL. The third of series of euchre parties was held on Friday, there being a large attendance. Miss Muriel Brooking and Mr. B. Holley won the prizes. Mr. Graham played the music, ahd extras were played by Mr. O’Connelly, Mr. N. Walker and Mrs. A. Walker. Mr. N. Walker was master of ceremonies. A Douglas Rugby team , went to Tututawa on Sunday to play a friendly game. Tututawa • with the assistance of T. Smith and J. Walter were victorious by 9 (three unconverted tries) to nil. Mr. A. Walker was referee. Mr. and Mrs.« Corry entertained the players at afternoon tea. Mr. L. Bunn had the misfortune to receive an injury to his head and was forced to retire. e Cocoa is being supplied free to the school children with their lunch.
Chickenpox is prevalent in the district, many children with the malady being absent from school. Mrs. E. Cutfield has been visiting Mrs. R. Cutfield, Inglewood. Mr. Sextus sen., who has'been visiting his son, has left for Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. Bovey are visiting Mr. Sextus juh. Mrs. Reed and son have left Tututawa. Mrs. G. Brooking is staying at New Plymouth.
