FINE, COLD WEATHER
DECREASING SOUTHERLIES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather will still be squally and showery between Kaikoura and East Cape and in the Cook Strait area but will improve and elsewhere will be fair to fine. Temperatures will be cold with some severe frosts. An intense anti-cyclone has moved slowly on to New Zealand, its centre today being over Otago. Pressure is relatively low to the north-east and east of the Dominion. There will be strong but decreasing southerly winds north of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura, and light to moderate and variable winds elsewhere. Seas will be rough to moderate.
