HUGE STATUE OF LENIN
MOSCOW CATHEDRAL SITE. GRANDOISE BUILDING PLAN. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, June 1. The Moscow correspondent of the Manchester Guardian states that a gigantic statue of Lenin, 160 feet high, will replace the former golden dome of the Cathedral of the Saviour as the outstanding feature of the Moscow landscape, according to a decision of the committee supervising the building of the place. The Soviet’s immense statue, it is stated, will crown a grandiose structure which is being erected on the site formerly occupied by the cathedral, which was demolished in 1932.
