JEWS APPEAL TO LEAGUE
IRISHMAN’S REPORT REJECTED. GERMAN’S REFUSAL TO ACCEPT IT. British Official Wireless. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, May 27. At a meeting of the Council of the League of Nations to consider Herr Bernheim’s petition appealing against the treatment of Polish Jews in German Upper Silesia, the German delegate, Herr Von Keller, refused to accept a report presented by the Irish Free State delegate, Mr. Lester. It was agreed that an amended report be submitted on Monday, when the Council will meet again.
