OKOKE DOG TRIALS

YARDING TO W. V. McINTYRE. INTERESTING DEMONSTRATIONS. The Okoke dog trials were finished in fine weather on Friday morning, when the .remaining competitors in the heading, driving and, yarding event were decided. As anticipated the splendid run put up by W. V. Mclntyre’s Cruachan proved difficult to beat and he was adjudged the winner with the fine score of 56 points, J. Edwin’s Ben junr. being runner-up.; Mr. Mclntyre therefore takes the Fuller Cup. The educational value of the gathering was enhanced subsequently when an exhibition run was given by. thf judge, Mr. F. King, with his huntaway Boy. A judging competition was held in connection with the run and for comparison Mr. F. King himself awarded poipts. Messrs. ■F. Hargraves and R. Ekfiahl coincided with the official judge’s award of 41 points. Mr. A. Northcott. also gave a demonstration, pointing out the good and bad points. The performance, he said, was an excellent one. Details are:— Class IV: W. V. Mclntyre’s (Wajtui) Cruachan, 56 points, 1. J. Edwin’s (Waihi) Ben Junr-, 49 points, 2. J. Herbert’s (Uruti) Toss, 46 points, 3. M. Waterson’s (Mohakatino) Border, Mac, 41 points. R. Ekdahl’s (Okoke) Ben, 40 points. G. Salisbury’s Tweed, 35 points.
