ANGLICAN SALE OF WORK. The Church of England Ladies’ Guild on Thursday, held its annual sale of work, there being fair attendances both afternoon and evening. Stallholders were: Sewing, Mrs. C. W. Solomon and Mrs. J. E. Mortimer; cakes, Mrs. J. C. Barclay and Mrs. J. Johnstone; produce, Mrs. Crocker and Mrs. W. Hollis; sweets, Misses V. and L. Mortimer and Miss E. Ward; tearooms, Mesdames D. Edwards, A. Ward, W. King and H. Better. During the evening a euchre tournament was held, the winners being Mrs. J. Green and Mr. G. Good. “Hidden number” prizes were won by Mrs. W. Blair and Mr. O. Collins. Music ..for the dance was played by Mrs. J. Green. Competitions were won as follows: Cake, Alastair Struthers (No. 3); box of handkerchiefs (No. 29), Miss V. Mortimer; Nightdress (No. 7), Miss M. Oughton. Mrs. G. Dundas won a competition. The Okaiawa Old Girls’ A basketball team to play Manaia at Manaja to-day comprises: Misses P. Green, A. Butler, R. Toro, D. Robertson, B. Green, Delia Good, E. Cameron, B. Oldfield, P. Pou. The B team has the bye.
