King John’s Castle, Limerick, built early in the 13th century, is to be reconstructed to ’ provide homes for slum-, dwellers. Dr. Johannes Schmidt, the great expert on eels, who has died, aged 56, found that when eels are three, they leave Europe to travel across the world to near Bermuda, where they spawn and die. Then their progeny retrace their parents’ course.
