BAN IN SWITZERLAND. WEARING PROHIBITED. Berne, May 13. The Swiss Federal Council has passed a decree forbidding, after May 18, the wearing of any uniform, badges, armbands, or other signs denoting membership of a political organisation,' Swiss or foreign. The penalty for a Smlss subject violating this law is a fine of up to 1000 Swiss francs (approximately £4O at par), and, for a second offence, six months’ imprisonment, and a further fine of 5000 francs, while foreigners may, in addition, be prohibited from living in Switzerland for 10 years. Uniforms already in existence will be confiscated by the police.
