HAWERA OPERA HOUSE
“THE KID FROM SPAIN” TO-DAY. “The Kid from Spain,” starring Eddie Cantor, will commence its four-night season and one matinee at the Hawera Opera House to-day at 2 p.m. “The Kid from Spain” is an ambitiously conceived and lavishly executed comedy extravaganza, mounted in the most effective fashion and full of gaiety, movement incident and interest. Among • gems of the production are the appearances of the Goldwyn Girls in dance ensembles which for sheer magnificence and artistic extravagance are unique. iu dancing is just what could be expected from a combination which is regarded by good judges as the best of its kind in the world. Swiftly-moving scenes tell the amazing story of the pseudo Don Sebastian, champion bull fighter or all Spain, and there is always a background of colour and music to the fast-occurring adventures which fall to the lot of Cantor. There is an excellent supporting programme, which includes another Walt Disney technicolour cartoon entitled “Babes in the Wood.”
