QUESTION OF NEW GROUND. PROBABILITY AT EAST END. A meeting of the committee' of the combined New Plymouth Association football- clubs- was held last night, when there were present Messrs. W. Shepherd (in the chair), V. Parkinson, R. Lowe, Reeves; W. Johnstop, P. - Wilmshurst, W, Howie and R.-J.-Page (hem. secretary); Mr. -Parkinson reported ■- that he and the other members of the grounds committee, Messrs.-Roper, Page' and Richards, had- met the East End Reserve executive regarding the formation ■of a Soccer ground' on ‘ that portion of the reserve over the Te Henui River. They had come to the- conclusion that the ground was suitable provided that the necessary relief labour could be obtained. As this was practically certain they had decided to refer the matter back to the combined committee. It was unanimously decided to fall in with this suggestion and to inform the jEast End Reserve Society that the clubs would be prepared./to go on with the scheme.' ... The question of the organisation of junior teams was brought up by Mr. J. W. Hollows. Mr. W. Howie on behalf of the. Waitara Club stated'that Waitara could put a team in the field but the position of the New Plymouth clubs appeared rather indefinite and those clubs were requested to make every endeavour to get teams in the field.
