CHILD KILLED BY MOTOR-CAR
DRIVER EXONERATED BY COURT. TRAMCAR OBSCURES VISIBILITY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, May 3. In a ease in which Leslie George Peach Bond was charged with negligently driving a motor-car so as to cause the death of a child, Elizabeth Beatrice Roberts, on March 25, the evidence showed that the child went round the rear of a tram and was immediately struck by the car, the speed of which was described as reasonable. The magistrate said that the accident could not be attributed to Bond and the case was dismissed.
