HIGH SCHOOL BOY DROWNED
WENT FOR SWIM AFTER TRAINING.

Whangarei, March 11. A high school boy, George. Crowley, aged 17, son of Mr. William Crowley, locomotive foreman, was drowned in a creek adjoining a playing field last evening. He wept into the water alone for a swim after training for a sports meeting. A quarter of an hour later the body was found lying at the bottom of the creek with the arms folded on the breast,
