GENERAL ITEMS. A cricket match was played on the Mangorei grounds on Saturday between married men and single men, resulting in a win for single men by 62 to 46. Scores are:—Married men: D. Lucas 16, C. Jones 6, J. Parish 3, G. Bennett 1, Wipiti 4, F. Robinson 5, Curd and Bocock 0, extras 3, total 46. Single men: Hansen 5, R. Davis 0, F. Robinson 0, M. Lucas 4, T. Davis 11, L. Wapiti 6, R. Parish 5, H. Parish 9, R. Richards 0, D. Jordan 1, B. Bennet 6, l5, total 62. The four entries'of pigs in bacon and pork class shown by Mr. F. Jordan in the New Plymouth show and winning first and second places in each class, were bought by Borthwick and Sons for dressing. They will be sent to England with the prize tickets attached to be shown in the London Winter Show. The school committee has decided to hold a social and dance at the school to raise funds to start the winter’s programme.
